Can you imagine that there are officers who are using drug and lies to the investigators? Would anyone want to have that kind of police around to protect them from being harm? We surely don’t want to have any bad police in our state. Talking about this, I have to be proud of a Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis. He has sent a weak message about police misconduct. The government need to take a look at these rogues polices again. They need to examine the police’s discipline, if they are trusty or not. It is very important to be concern about this problem because everyone’s safety is depending on them. We all want to live in a safety society. The government need to take action into this to punish these polices who did not take care of their responsibility. David did a good job in pointing out the punishment that range from written reprimands to a 45-day unpaid suspension to 11 officers who found out to be at the afterhours club in the Hyde Park frequently where drugs, alcohol, and prostitutes were present. As police, they serve as the model for people. They are to be exemplary by the people. But some of the police didn’t recognize that, instead they have done something that they should not do. Take a look at these three polices for their ashamed actions that they have done. The three former Boston Police officers protect a large shipment of cocaine arranged by federal agents posing as drug dealers. One of the officers named Roberto Pulido who was the head of that protection racket was a steroid user. He also guarded the after hours club parties. These bad polices should be shame of them self for not serve as the people’s police, for not knowing their responsibility as an appropriate police. David expresses his thought on how to punish these 3 polices by arresting them and put them on a lengthy imprisonment. I strongly agree with David’s idea. Bad polices should not work anymore for they cannot be trust and perform their work correctly. I think that David did a good thing in solving this problem so that people can live in safe and protected by those who can be rely on. Those bad police who used illegal drugs and lie to the investigators are only a disservice to the public like David said.

Warning Sign About Our Environment

It’s time to talk about Texas dirty air, especially in this hot summer. We need to seriously be more concern about this. This is related to our health. San Antonio, Houston, Austin and Dallas have the highest number of respiratory and cancer causing by contaminate air in the state. As people already know, cancer is a very dangerous disease that anyone would not want to have. But if they have a cancer, then they are in great risk. People who live in hot area near the industry or autos, etc…are more likely found to be at risk in having cancer. There are 100 in 1 million cancer risks whereas the national average is 36 in 1 million. So that’s why keeping our environment clean and healthy will leave us a good result. The Texas Legislature shouldn’t allow the companies to have the flexible permit or to be called the “license to pollute”. Our air is being polluted. The government should lessen the toxic gas from polluting our environment that comes from the factories and not letting them pollute more. Keeping the air clean will give people a healthier life to prevent from having diseases. The government needs to take action on the coal- fired power plant. They need to put on some restriction before the use of coal goes over limit. The New Jersey-based NRG Energy Inc. is planning to expand the power plant in Jewett to burn an additional 4.3 million tons of coal every year. This would only increase the amount of carbon dioxide to 10 million tons a year. As we know that the more coal we burn, the more carbon dioxide gets release from it. This has a greater impact on global warming, one of our major issue. We need to try to take action in preventing this gas from entering into our atmosphere by not letting it release an abundant amount. One person can make a difference and help to stop global warming. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality commissioner said, “Now is the time for Texas to look forward to a clean energy future by rejecting the dirty energy sources of our past.” I hope that everyone should have more responsibilities for the environment so that we can have a fresh air and healthy life.

Should We Use Cell Phone While Driving?

I totally agree with you that cell phone shouldn't be use when driving. While driving and using phone we cannot concentrate on the road, therefore it is very dangerous. Many accidents caused by using cell phone while driving. As I watch the news 80% of accidents and 65% of near accidents involved by distracted by cell phone. Because of the safety of citizens, cell phones must be bane while driving so we can reduce risk on the road, otherwise reduce traffic and save time when we drive to work or go somewhere else. My personal opinion would love to use cell phone while driving as well, but when I think about the damage and injury of using cell phone while driving, I limit use it while driving. School Fund

This is a right decision because the government spends more funds on education, school able to make higher education affordable and help student success with school. The government doesn't spend that much fund and then get nothing in return but expect more than what they give. A country will become extremely wealthy if the entire citizens have a high degree. Because the U.S make money base on taxes from its citizens; in fact, Education fund is one of three major fund after military and Medicare. Think about benefits of the country the government should funds more on education.

Textbooks Tax

Reading Maggie’s blog, I would have to say that I support with her argument. Yes! I have to agree with this policy about tax exemption on textbook for college students. Maggie has the same basic view as I do. Whatever she said in her blog about this article, I completely agree with her. And I think not only I agree, but many other students would have to agree with this point. Becoming a college student bring lots of stress. As an independent student, you are on your own way. They have with them a bunch of homework and also managing time for working. Especially in this time period when our economy is in a recession, everything is expensive now. The price has gone up. Students would be very satisfied if there is no more tax on textbook. Saving money from the tax does make a different. Even though the tax money is not a lot if you only spend a little but it does add up to a large amount as you spending. Textbooks are not cheap as anyone knows. One textbook may be around $100 or more. Let’s do a little math problem here. For every $100 you spend, you have to pay an additional $8.25. For students, every penny is worthy. Not only they have to use money on textbook, pay for their classes, spend on gasoline and food, but there are a lot more situations where money is needed. I think that this is really good topic to be brought up. I really hope that this bill will pass. This way it will reduce a part for student’s burden. Why does government not do something to help students by not collected tax on textbooks? Students go to school for a better life. As a matter, if every single person has a good education and life, that country will be a wealth and rich country.

Should We Have Our Own Gun in School?

I have the same view on the article about keeping guns out of Texas School by Katherine Haenschen. Each campus has their own police, so there’s no need for people to carry gun around. Gun makes us feel unsafe, not comfortable to go out. I also oppose to this bill. It should not be passing to become a law. I think it’s illegal to do that. My hope is that congress will not accept this bill or other wise we will see guns in classroom everywhere.
Campus is a place for studying not a place for fighting so we don’t expect to bring guns. Although I understand that there are still some small incidents happen, but that’s what we have the school security for. This is their job, their responsibility to solve the problem. If everyone carry guns around, we will feel that we always in danger, that’s why guns are there for our protection. That’s not true but if we make the campus feel safe, then there’s need for having guns. Let’s join the fellow Texans at the Capital to make the bill not happen. Our students’ safety depends on everyone. We need everyone’s voice, opinion to this bill. I totally agree that by having guns around, more incidents will likely to happen than not having guns. This is not for our protection but will only make it worst. We should not make colleges become more violence but make it safe for the better of our education. Weapons need to be restricted from the rest of the public or it would later have the same result as the Virginia Tech incident where it killed 32 people and injured many others.

A Threatening In Our Life

As we can see that there are many problems to the country today. Those comprise of pollution, conservation problem, economic in depression, health danger like the spread of swine flu (H1N1). Our government is facing these challenges and tries to solve these problems as quickly as they can. This can bring lots of trouble to the residents. According to this Texas observer, the United States is in danger with this spreading of flu from Mexico. The governments need to take action in stopping this swine flu from killing people. Base on the article, the readers know about one more problem that our governments have to face recently. Not only we know the flu continues spreading, but we also know about Mexico’s situation right now. This swine flu scares many people and what also bothering their country is the problem of the midterm elections that will take place in early July. I think this article is worth reading because it is a sign warning people about health and environment. It influences to our own life. As a sign, should we do something for our environment and consider about global warming. The article is known as a lesson for all of us, not only for people that have to handle with the swine flu but also for ourselves. I hope that people will take this as a lesson and pay more attention to our environment. We should make the world a better place to live. If we have a clean environment then swine flu like this will less likely happen.
